Archery

I went for a weekend of archery lessons.
It was surprisingly interesting!
I might have it in my Korean blood.

Totem

Cirque du Soleil
@ Royal Albert Hall

A modern twist to a circus...
that will be an understatement but the show made me
recall the excitements I had when I first saw a circus as a little girl.
An excellent show by extremely talented people.

This was the stage which was transformed a number of times during the night.

The celling of RAH

I had a chance to see Cirque du Soleil a few years ago
but I did not manage to get the tickets but so glad to have seen the show.
I actually went to see this yesterday.
The whole weekend felt very busy having to work but
I was with a good company which made all the difference.
I cannot ask for more!!

Gut Feelings

'Gut feelings' are informal judgement tools in many ways.
I often hear other social workers say, 'Looks prefect on the assessments
but my gut tells me otherwise.'

I had a feeling yesterday that a client may have passed away.
It is a case I talked about last month about the carer's funding.
I was going to email the provider today rather than the wife as
my involvement has ended and I would not have to make such contact.
I received an email about lunch time from the provider informing me
that he had passed away yesterday. How strange!
This is my second case that I had this feeling of know someone's death.
I felt my grandmother's death too actually.

May he rest in peace............

It does make me scared at times when it is this accurate.
However, my gut feelings can sometimes be so wrong in my personal life.

Snowy London

This week has been pretty cold for London winter.
Very difficult to cycle and a good decision not to
cycle in this evening and I walked instead.
I was facing the snow but it was somewhat nice...

Well...I will have to get to work whatever the weather
as I live within the 3 miles policy! No wonder one of the
manager was checking how many people will be in tomorrow.
This amount of snow will be a joke in Seoul but it is a shock in London.

Without Warning

Without Warning
@ the old vic tunnels

31/ 01- 11/02/ 2012

I did not know what to make of the performance/play.
It was a very experiential piece which left a lot of room
for different interpretations.
Thinking back now, I do not think I even have to give meanings to
what I saw but to remain with the feelings that came to me
at the moment may be enough to enjoy the piece.
A very good use of sounds, lighting and space!

Walking towards the old vic tunnels

Some people may remember Shunt Lounge in London Bridge
which is now shut but the old vic tunnels gives you a similar feel
if you have missed Shunt Lounge.
I do remember having lots of fun at Shunt Lounge many years ago!
