I enjoyed it but not in an engaging manner. There was a beauty of being free and curious in his work. I went for the second time to see Klee and I think I appreciated his work more than the first time.

Reith Lecture 2013: Grayson Parry

Only just discovered the joy of Reith Lectures! 

This year is by Grayson Parry, you either love him or hate him. Lectures are interesting as he brings art to our eye level and also discusses many controversial and commercial aspects of contemporary art. He might change my view or educated me to accept contemporary art as what it is.

What's changed?

Summer exhibition 2013

It was good fun to see lots of random work from diverse group of people. 

Interestingly paintings were still far more popular catch than prints for obvious reasons

but great to see different mediums on display. Grayson Parry's large scale tapestries 

were very good and thought provoking.  

Maybe there is hope for me too!

Research- SPRU annual report 2012

SPRU 2012 Annual Report is now available. It contains a wide array of social policy research, 35 projects in total, including:

* dementia, choice and personalisation, integration of services, transition

* community health teams, young adults, older people, behaviour problems

* Fit for Work Service, The Work Programme, HWWB, Universal Credit

* fostering, special guardianship, residential homes and corporate parenting

* peer research, systematic reviewing

feature reviews of: our work within the School for Social Care Research; Workforce stress and burnout; and how to have impact. There is information on the many external activities that we take part in which contribute to the health of the social policy community, and news of all our publications and international presentations in 2012.
