Crazy Duty

This is my new mug at work. After a year and a half of
my yellow mug, I've changed this with a mug that
my friend has gave me as a gift.

My first day back to work after two days of sick leave,
I was on duty which I knew. My colleague had to cover
for me yesterday, heard it was another hectic day.
A discharge that I was arranging failed due to housing
not co-operating with us, but hopefully he will be
discharged on Monday.
The telephone calls were relentless all day.
Cases piling up which I didn't mind but the phone
calls were too many!!!
And of course, the typical type of angry calls
were half of them.

New face!

Well...seems like summer in the UK has finished a few
weeks ago and autumn is right into its journey,
then soon the dark nights will come!
So I thought I give my blog a change of clothes!
The range of designs have improved a lot since
I last had a look at the templates.

The Pope's State Visit

I knew Pope Benedict XVI was visiting but I was totally
unaware that traffic could be so heavily affected.
A friend is visiting and we planned to go to Sloane Square, Chelsea
yesterday and we waited and waited for the bus for 20 minutes
then someone was talking about the road closures
of the Pope's state visit.
TfL missed a sign on that particular bus stop
so we took to tube (underground) instead.

Can you feel the effect of his highness' presence in the UK?
I'm an Anglican (nearly Anglo Catholic?!) so it's a moment
for me but I'm not that moved as most Catholics would be.

We wanted to be clever today and took to Tube to
Victoria Station for a day trip to Oxford.
Off we went!

Ideas, Dreams & Reality

Disability
Faith
Design
Psychotherapy
Art Therapy
Social Work
Social Policy
Voluntary Sector (NGO)
Service?
Education?

I was in the gym tonight and these words came to my mind... which I am familiar with. I have been dreaming and having ideas of something I would like to do in Korea one day... However, it is all in my head for now but I feel that it may all come together at some point. I will leave it to develop and also wait for the Lord to lead the way, as he has always done!

BFI

British Film Institute
Shows art, independent, old films as well as
documentaries and other experimental films.
My calleauge who I went to see a film at BFI
asked me whether I have been to BFI.
I said, yes! but only the bar as usual!
That is so YOU!

The hub of BFI!
This is where all the films are played for all the cinemas.
Some of the things shouldn't become too digital but
to remain as analogue...like this hub.

Hoog Sangsoo in London

Discovering Korean film director,
Hong Sangsoo (홍상수) in London
@ BFI (British Film Institute).
All of his films are showing over the next few weeks, 5-28 Sept '10
Hanging on the notice board in my flat

A colleague mentioned about his film showing at
BFI and he was going to see his latest film 'HAHAHA'.
I didn't make it for that one, but him, his partner and I
arranged to see his debut film 'The day a pig fall into the wall,1996'(돼지가 우물에 빠진 날) over the weekend.
I have seen is film so many years ago, but couldn't remember
any of it. I enjoyed it this time, it was a lot of reality in such
a realistic way, which you don't tend to see this level of depth in
films nowadays. Very well shoot with low budget
but it can be quite depressing and heavy....
I was so surprised to see so many non-Koreans in the cinema,
there were only a hand full of Koreans including me.
I might go and see another film....Quite a interesting feeling
seeing Korean films in the cinema in London!

My day at work

I had some interesting conversations with a few of my
service users.

This was from a calleague of mine who thought
I might be upset today.....the reason is....take a guess...!
It was so kind of her! Thanks Michelle!

Prom 75

Monteverdi's Vespers of 1610

Monteverdi Choir
London Oratory Junior Choir
Schola cantorum of the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School
His Majestys Sagbutts and Cornetts
English Baroque Soloists
is a group of virtuoso wind players who specialise
in playing Renaissance and Baroque music
in historically appropriate styles on original instruments.

Sir John Eliot Gardiner- Conductor
It was more moving and interesting than I imagined.
The choirs were just amazing and so moving.
It was my first time to listen to live Baroque music but
I really enjoyed it!

The End

It was the last night of Prom at RAH so,
of course it was extremely busy.
I was really worried that I might not get a ticket!
Maybe it was good after all that few of my friends couldn't make it.
I can't have left one behind and gone in, can I?
Maybe I might have done that...? :)

 Yes, it's BBC PROMS
It's recorded every night!

I remember coming to PROM last year tonight.
Yoyo Ma was playing and it was much colder,
I remember in the distance that we all had to wear a coat
that night, but was warmer tonight.
A year goes very quickly!

Good Bye Proms 2010
See you next year!

Skyride!

Yes, I was cycling in the sky!

Part of central London was closed
from 9.30am to 4.30pm for free cycling event
It aims to promote cycling to all ages and people.
With a target to get 1 million people on the two wheels by 2013.
I hope the Mayor will upgrade the road provisions for the cyclist!

Freebies, will wear it in winter to be seen!
A cycling piano?
Isn't he cool? He was playing the piano, singing and cycling!
Giu the nun and stoney Peter
Today's Skyride crew!
It was so nice to cycle on the road free from the cars!
Wish it was car free everyday!
My other cyclist friends join me next year.

1 Year Old!

It's my baby's 1st birthday today!
I'm taking it for a good ride with the
other big boys on Skyride later on....
This is my present for my baby!
A new sweet vintage sound bell.

Busy and Tired

It was a very busy week and the whole team was busy as well.
Duty was manic!
It was swamped with cases of social workers
who are on leave(holiday)! So typical!
I was dealing with one too. I was doing my colleague a
favor which turned out to be two full days worth of work.
Below is the drug I was taking to go through the stress!
Drug name: Dark Chocolate!

My colleagues' case, service user was financially abused
by the so called care worker who was doing very little for the
service user and took most of money straight from the
bank account! It was pick up through a review of the service.
Now the police is involved and the care worker is suspended.
So I did some shopping for her and topped up her electricity
and planned to get her a pack of cigarette.
However, I was refused on two occasions!
Meaning I looked under 18??1!@!!@#@!#!@#@#
So I left her with money just in case (which was consulted
with my manager as it was the team's money and whether
that would be safe...) I took it as a compliment but so
impractically! I was teased all day at work, in a good way.
Young girl!

I had two dosages of drug to keep me going!
(It was a gift for the team who went to Madrid)

Goldsmiths..New Cross...

I had a visit this morning that was very close to my
dear old college....Goldsmiths
I thought I'll go to Uncle Wrinkle for lunch
(Chinese takeaway) that sustained me for the
three years of my stay at Goldsmiths.
............Nostalgia...........
Ben Pimlott Building 2005
Mainly Art and Psychology Dept
Great views from the top floor!
Unfortunately it was CLOSED!
Only evening business...not term time yet
It's SO good, I'm sure most Gold people have
visited or know Uncle Wrinkle!

Old Goldsmiths logo
New Goldsmiths logo
Very interesting costume shop!
Window display is always unique like the the Goldsmiths people!

Old Deptford Town Hall
