Street Soup Run- a crime?

Is the Tory government going too far?
Southwark cutting homeless budget by 40% is going to
be a hard time for the public service- housing, health and social care.
I feel it at work already with the cut under way.
Bye-Law in consultation....
Westminster council to ban rough sleepers and free food distribution.
I guess they will try to pass it before the Royal wedding to clear the streets!
(click here to read more about it.)

Homelessness is so close to heart as that was what made
who I am now. The amazing encounters and laughter I had
with the people who I worked with. They were the great teachers
for me to find my passion and propose of life.

Come and join the interesting lay-down protest in Westminster Piazza
on Saturday 2nd April 2011 12pm - 4.30pm

EDT

EDT stands for Emergency Duty Team
what is also called Out of Hours social work.
Yes, I was working today under the glorious sun.
However, I could not complain as it was extremely quiet.
I only had two calls, but the first one happen to be
a death of a 85 year old man in a nursing home.
It was interesting how unattached I was to this news
and I was able to close down the man's information on
the data base system with much less emotions compared my own cases.
As I often thought it was a bit cold to tick the deceased box
the moment you were notified of one's death.
May he rest in peace.......

This is where the office is based....
I don't like the idea of working in a hospital building, it's too clinical.
I am fine to go once or twice a month but not permanently.

It is an Victorian building (listed).

Not sure how this photo came about, but it's cool!

MND Community Link Meeting

My first day back to work after a week off.
I did not get to do much of my own work as I was on duty half day
and MND community link meeting the afternoon.

The meeting is held every three months at King's College Hospital
which is a MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team).
I started attending as I have two active MND* cases.
It is helpful for the team as there are MND patients known to
hospital but not yet known to my team. They may be referred to my
team in future if they deteriorate further.

We had an informative session before case discussions about
21st International Symposium and Allied Professionals' Forum that was held in US.
One of the consultant who attended and fed back some of the highlights
and the current scientific and clinical  issues.

* MND- Motor Neurone Disease
MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association) has lots of resources
and information if anyone is interested in knowing more about the condition.

Somewhere in Provence, France

Avignon -----> Aix-en-Provence
70km away 20 minutes on TGV.

I went to meet a special friend, and his friends,
who I met last summer whilst traveling.
He lives in Freiburg, Germany but I joined a long weekend
trip to his friend's country house with his friends.
I can't remember what the village is called....
We went for a walk by the lake? river?
Moriz & Mirjam

The house is so well located on a hill with a great view of the area.

A beautiful sunset

Avignon, France

An excellent journey on the train to South of France.
A quick change in Paris and I so wanted to stay on in Paris.

I dropped by in Avignon before going to see
a group of friends in Aix-en-Provence country house.
It was so warm that I did not need my coat!
The whole city is surrounded by this wall.
I love this photo! Just the right moment.
