SPRU-Transition by disabled young people

Transitions to adult services by disabled young people 

leaving out of authority residential schools

Improving disabled young people's transitions to adult services and 
adulthood is now a government priority. Evidence suggests that 
poor transition planning and outcomes feature too often 
in the transitions of disabled young people 
from children's to adult services. 
Moreover the transitions of disabled young people 
leaving out of authority residential school placements 
can be even more problematic than the transitions of young people 
living with their families and attending local schools.
Interviews with staff and managers working in children's services 
(education, health and social care), adult social care, Connexions and 
transition teams were used to explore how transitions from out of 
authority residential schools to adult services are currently managed. 
This study also identified factors which appear key 
to the transition process and its outcomes.

보통 아동에서 성인 팀의 전환 과정을 보면 거의 일년 전부터 
준비를 한다. 매니저들이 우선은 전환 의뢰를 받고 팀에 18세가 
되는 날부터 성인팀에서 funding 을 시작하게 된다. 
이구동성 하는 소리는 성인 서비스로 전환이 되면 거의 
허허 벌판이라는 것! 위 연구의 초점을 교육이지만 
사회서비스 (social services)도 마찬가지다. *** 세원***

SPRU (Social Policy Research Unit)은

사회정책, 사회복지, 복지, 의료, 빈곤에

대한 연구에 중점을 두고 있다.

SPRU는 University of York 의

Department of social policy and social work

산하의 연구소이다.

York Uni는 가 학부 지원을 했을 때 1지망있었는데

불학격이었다. 2지망이었던 Goldsmiths College를

졸업한 것에 대해서는 대 만족이다.

런던이 갖고 있는 성격 덕분에 다양성에
대해서 충분히 배울 수 있는 기회였던거 같다.
